Home-made Scent Tarts

Lavender Fields

As part of ridding chemicals from our home I have been making my own scent bars/Tarts with natural wax and Essential Oils , not Fragrances which still have chemicals in them.

The Lavender ones I made with my Own Harvested Lavender and used the flower buds along with some pure Lavender Essential Oil.

I use a 1/2 pound of natural soy wax (not from a craft store). I order on line Amazon.

Weigh out on scale then add to double broiler and heat to 180 degrees F then remove from fire and add
    2 tsp Lavender
1/2. Dried Lavender buds (save half for top of scent tart)
Stir gently and pour into molds and let harden. I usually let mine set for a few day to season a bit.

Now just drop into a wax warmer and enjoy and relax! Lavender is good for that!

Sweet Nothings

Another Scent Tart I made I using

  • 2 Tsp of Ylang Ylang
  • 1/2 Tsp Cedar Wood
  • 1/4 Tsp Vetiver
  • 1/4 Tsp Clove Bud
  • Cook same as above

Gently stir and pour into mold, oh I love the Silicon molds I purchased on line also!

Essential Oils of Yang Ylang, vetiver, cedar wood and Clove bud.

Note I did not add in coloring to my wax if I did I use natural coloring such as herbs, seeds, fruit and such.
