Make A Plan

Well it’s been a while since I been on here and it’s been a busy time here on the homestead!

So busy that I’ve not been to the gym lately but I have been working outside a lot and using my workout machine so it’s not all bad!

How about you? What’s your plan? Do you slow down come summer or quit the gym and workout at home? I think its good either way as long as you don’t quit totally!! I also have some weights sitting near my chair to remind me to get lifting!! It’s been a long journey with a lot of ups and downs and that’s normal we all are going to have weeks with a gain ! We just have to shake it off and start new the next day believe me I know how easy it would be to just say who cares anymore I messed up so why try anyway!! Been there done that!

Gain 2 pounds, lose 3 and sometimes plateau for a month!! That was hard on me knowing I have only 30 pounds to go and man it’s been the hardest! But I’m NOT giving up I think about it this way ; where was a I a year ago? A lot lighter ! Well there you go so why throw in the towel when you have come this far and done so good ! See what I mean , Look at it from where you were and then where you would like to be!!

Have a plan make a strategy like what will you do when you have a gain ? What’s your plan? Write it down then go back to it when you need it. And you will need it , We all do!!

So pull up those big girl or guy pants and hang in there you come to far Baby!!

I Love Me!

Do you value yourself?

So how would you describe your self-esteem right now?  Low? High? Or somewhere in between?!!

What is Self- Esteem?  It is how a person describes themselves a belief that he or she deserves to be happy and can handle everyday life.  TO LOVE THEMSELVES!

Does it have anything to do with the number on the scale?? NO!  BUT I will tell you we sometimes believe that our self-worth and our weight go hand in hand,  I DID!!

WE have to value our self-worth no matter what our weight!  and I know that’s tough for I fought it all my life and the prejudices of other people.    We have to separate weight and self-esteem and I know it can be hard for some but we have to have this super woman or man esteem to get through this health journey and our life plans or we will become stagnant and give up and I won’t have that!!  It will keep us going during the hard challenges we face and make us more likely to pursue our goals.

I don’t know about you but it gave me the self-confidence to keep going to keep fighting the fat bulge  and not worry about what others thought or worse to compare myself with others!   Think about it when we are feeling healthy and confident in our skin we treat ourselves better, we are happier, we make better choices.  We have a better body image of ourselves which will boost us to work harder and lose more weight!  I have been there done that!    How do you feel when you made a bad choice? doomed, down, want to give up, give in?  You start to think you’re not worth it right?   Do you see how the cycle goes??  It can be vicious!!  We must stop it right now right here and at that very moment! Don’t give up,  ok you made a bad choice, deal with it!  Tomorrow is another day and a new beginning.  Hey were all human and  snickers happen man!!

Being healthy and on a weight loss journey is not punishment!  Its taking control of your life, your choices along with your thoughts and beliefs !

When I was younger with four kids at home and being a stay at home mom while hubby worked It seemed like all I got done was change diapers, clean, and COOK!!  What’s the big deal you say?  Well with a family of six back in the day we ate a lot of carbs, we couldn’t afford all the healthy food, only if the garden produced well and on occasions.   So the weight keep piling on  c-section after c-section (4) to be exact! The old fashion way too!  You know mommies can get stressed too and what did I do?  Comfort eating!! Yup stress/food, sad/food, lonely/food, angry/food,  See the pattern their!  Another cycle started which lead to more weight, low self-esteem and low self-worth.  You know as I sit here now writing this out I’m thinking why didn’t I see this then???   Did I miss the boat? Or what!!    Its simple take away the self judgement and criticism and replace it with kindness and compassion!  Boost that Self-Esteem  see yourself as a friend or a relative would, with appreciation, love and acceptance.

Do you have a person or relative that really cares about you?  I’m sure you do.

Well think about that person for a minute,  What do they look like?  what color are their eyes, Whats their personality?

What makes that person special to you?  How does it feel thinking about them?  Are they happy, loving, what does their voice sound like?

Now imagine that YOUR THAT PERSON!   See yourself through their eyes,  What do they notice about yourself?  Now shift your perspective.  Now those thoughts and feelings are things you like about yourself!!  Write it down if it helps,  keep it for a booster!!   Take one day a week and do this excercise and practice seeing yourself through a loved one’s eyes.

Self – Esteem is not about changing what you look like or what you do, It’s about changing your attitude about yourself and your worth!

Example:

STINKING THINKING                                                                        

I can’t really feel happy till I lose this weight.

POSITIVE THINKING

I can feel happy no matter my weight, yes I’d like to lose and get healthy, but my weight does not define me,  I like who I am.

  Stinking Thinking : Theirs no way I am going to stand up and give a talk at school

Positive Thinking:    I love to entertain and speak to people,  the scale shouldn’t hold me back,  Everyone will be watching me and admiring my voice and humor.

You get the point?  We as humans can be so hard on us and beat ourselves down constantly!  I did it for years!  It’s time for a reality check man!!  Do you not love your relative any less or best friend if they don’t live a healthy life style?  Of course not!  I had a fluffy Grandma and never thought nothing of it, she was loving, my role model and full of spunk and confidence.

Good Advice

Be an Inspiration to others and to your selves!  Being a part of a health group where we all are working on our healthy life style,  I have never seen a bunch of loving, caring, supportive men and women helping each other plus never looking down on each other!  Only love and support.  It made me think about how I felt about myself, my worth and my confidence!  I sat in the back corner for months watching and listening to praises, support, ideas, clapping and cheering each other on and suddenly I felt different!  I felt comfortable in my skin, I felt a part of something, something BIG!!  SOMETHING MEANT FOR EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US!  Confidence, Love of  Self, Acceptance and ready to meet a challenge !!  I had new confidence in myself and my ability to be a healthier me!! I was ready to take on the more active life, make more healthy choices and except a slip up now and then and pick myself up and keep on trucking on!!

I FINALLY BELEIVED  IAM WORTH IT!!! ME  YOU!!  WE CAN DO THIS !!

Hows The Work Outs Going?

Hopefully your still at it!  Are you getting bored?  Hows your routine doing?

Well you might say something like this “I’m bored with it, I’m tired of doing the same things or I can’t just get into it like I was”.  These are all familiar statements when we work out and a-lot of reasons why we QUIT!   But we can’t have that!  So let’s talk about it see what we come up with and I’ll give you some tips and things that helped me.

Is your energy low? Just Dog Gone Tired or  feeling down and just want to stay home and sit on your butt?

I hear ya!  I’ve been there done that several times and IT DID NOT HELP ME!   It put me in a bad place of feeling like a  failure or defeated and ,  I  just gave up!

Listen we are not going to QUIT!   REPEAT NOT QUITTING!!!  So then How do we get our mojo going??  Well one thing that worked for me was a Buddy System, finding someone who will work out with you at least several times a week, or maybe if you live long distance from them set up phone call times to support each other and talk about how the day went, what kind of workout you did, maybe you tried a new work out or machine, what you ate or plan on eating for dinner etc.

I still do this today!!  I have a cousin and one of us call daily to report to each other and  pump each other up we maybe share some healthy recipes,  Hey we have bad days but we don’t give up!  Tomorrow is another day and just get back to it!!

Maybe you like to work in a group setting or meeting new people like a gym or yoga class or maybe a hiking or walking club and don’t forget Zumba!  That will shake things up!

Spring and Summer are coming how about joining a sports league like baseball, or soccer.  Something I like to do is listen to an audio book while I work out and I actually look forward to the workout because the book keeps me coming back to exercise and the book pulls me in if that makes sense.   Speaking of Spring to get more steps and workouts on my own I worked in the garden this past week, I helped revamp a shed to my chicken coop, raked and cleared out garden area and built raised wood boxes anything to keep moving and burning some calories!   Do you have a fit bit or I watch that can track your movements/steps?  Some even have workouts you can pick and reminders to get up and move!  Not from couch to fridge, But move and walk around a few min!  A few years ago I bought one of those BIG bouncy balls you sit on and etc, Well I sat on it and bounced my butt around while watching tv and at the same time to arm workouts!  Needless to say I fell backwards and hit my head on the floor!!  OUCH!!  Do I still recommend it?  Heck Yes!  It was fun and changed things up a bit (and my head) lol.

Not sure I ever mentioned this, but I’m not a young chick!!  But Dang I’m not dead either so If I can do this stuff so can you!!  I have faith in You!

Something cool I like to do to get me pumped up or in the grove is to go buy new workout cloths!  But be careful, Its addicting man!   I also like to check out the workout equipment and weights not that I can afford it all but I also keep my eyes open on the for sale pages you see on-line or garage sales!  That where I purchased my first exercise bike!  The options are out there we just sometimes have to think outside the box and see things in a different perspective.

This is my all time favorite machine and If I had the room I would get one for home!

If you’re a gardener like me I love walking around the town and checking out their gardens and flowers, I also love walking in the woods or forest, I’m a nature kinda girl I love my trees and birds.  I guarantee it will clear your mind and give you a sense of renewal and energy!

 

Think about someone who could help you out and support you in your activities toward your workout goals, someone who would help you get out and move more.  Write your goal down and what activity you’re going to do AND how you are going to accomplish it!  Don’t write a whole bunch of goals be specific and take it one step at a time.

Now go find your buddy!  Be it a physical person  beside you or a phone buddy!  It makes it fun and you can help each other with accountability  and new ideas!!   Try something new and get out in nature!!   You got this!!!  I’m right beside you all the way!!

SMELLY GARLIC

SO WHAT ABOUT GARLIC? IT STINKS

AND WHY SHOULD I EAT IT?

GARLIC

To start with Garlic IS one of the smelliest  vegetables, but its a common seasoning world-wide!  The majority of garlic grown in the United States comes from California.  The scientific name is: Allium sativum.

You can eat garlic raw or cooked,  The raw form is great on salads and vegetables or just eaten alone!  Watch out if you eat it raw you will have some killer breath!  the kind that will back a person up!  Cooking with garlic is not nearly as bad for breath as eating it raw;  Although my Great Grandfather reeked of it , I have been told I do also!  I love it in either form, raw or cooked I use it for everything except dessert!

In Indian cooking the garlic has been called the “stinking rose”.  Also Garlic was mentioned in documents that date back 5,000 years ago, before it became popular to the rest of the world.

So what’s so good about Garlic and why should I eat it?  Well you might be surprised of all the benefits of garlic.

It is used for conditions of the heart and blood system for high blood pressure, low blood pressure, and high cholesterol.  Some people use it to prevent colon cancer, rectal cancer, prostate cancer and it is also used to treat prostate cancer and bladder cancer. Some people have used garlic to treat nail fungus infections, warts and corns.

How does it work?  Garlic produces a chemical called allicin.  This is what seems to make garlic work for certain conditions.  Allicin also makes garlic smell!!   You can buy it in a supplemental  capsule to take, so they will dissolve in the intestine and not the stomach.

Did you know Garlic is a great supply of manganese 23 % of the daily value.

Did you know Garlic also contains 17 percent of the daily value in vitamin B6, and 15% in Vitamin C. along with calcium, selenium, and phosphorus.   Go figure huh, all this is a little Stinky Vegetable!

 Garlic Cloves

If you don’t plant it you can buy in powder form, paste, grated, chopped, and fresh which is the best!  Look for bulbs that are fresh not soft or shriveled or moldy and preferably with no sprouts.  Garlic is best stored uncovered in a cool dark place away format and sunlight, to prevent sprouting.  It can be stored for a month or more if stored well.

Did you know that garlic has proven useful because it has a unique set of sulfur-containing compounds that have anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative properties that are good for cardiovascular support.

Did you know that taking garlic for three months people had fewer colds and  flu with  a shorter duration of illness.  It also has immune boosting effects and eaten fresh garlic has a potent antibacterial, antiviral and anti-fungal agent.

So HOW do you consume it for therapeutic purposes?  The best way is to take a single medium size clove and compress it with the flat side of a knife or bottom of a spoon prior to swallowing it, or put it through a blender and juice it with your vegetable juice.

This is the best way to reap the benefits of garlic whereas dried, powdered or jarred!

How about a good ” Ol ” Garlic Dish?

I love to finely chop garlic and mix it with 1 chopped cucumber  and halved  cherry tomatoes with a dash or salt and coarse ground pepper.

I love to also make a fresh garlic white sauce with real butter and milk cooking  till smooth and pour over Noodles, Fish, Chicken Breast  or a juicy hamburger  patty .

Well that about sums it up for Garlic and theirs so much more out there to learn!

Remember its Good for you, EVEN IF IT STINKS!

Shredded Pork Fajita

Spicy Yummy Pork Fajita

 

This is a really good dish and not a lot of fat so I can eat them and not feel guilty especially with the Flat-out Flatbread!  So here’s how you put it all together.

  • 3- Pounds of cooked pork, I used a lean pork roast and I slow cooked it the day before.
  • Shred the pork, and remove any fat or bone then place it back into a pan.
  • Add 3/4 pint jar of Salsa, I used Medium Chunky style. (Most the time I use my homemade Salsa)
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Garlic, plus a dash of salt and pepper
  • 1 Small onion chopped and 1/2 Green Pepper chopped

Mix the meat, salsa, peppers, onions, and garlic together in a large pan on stove to heat up.

Then I used the FlatBread as a shell to wrap it up with because they are high protein and only 90 calories plus it makes a good size Fajita! I slightly heat the FlatBread up in microwave then sprinkle some cheddar cheese on it first then add the meat mixture, about a 1/2 cup.

Then roll that puppy up!

                      There you have a Spicy Pork Fajita!

In It For The Long Haul!!

Are you about to give up?

ARE YOU!!

 

I know you have ask yourselves this many a time!!  I know for a fact I have so many times I can’t count them!!   Basically Here, I’m talking about the “H” word HEALTH  however you want to put it healthy life, healthy eating, healthy living, healthy input, healthy exercise, healthy bowel movements!!   But for me It’s Healthy ALL OF THE ABOVE!!

If you have followed my previous post on my Health Journey you know by now I have had my ups and downs;  And If you have not read them I encourage you to do so just so you know I’m human!  We all are!!  (This post will be linked to the latter ones I spoke of).

Half of February and up till today I have been up and down on the scale some of it my fault and some not,  But I’m here to tell you I have  had many days thinking about just throwing in the towel and breaking the scale plus a few dishes!!  Its been a long road and I just didn’t think it would take this long!!!  I started almost a year ago, to be exact  in two weeks will be my  One year start date I have been at this diet, healthy eating, blah, blah,blah,  AND still not at goal !!!

Do I give up, throw in the towel, cry my eyes out and anything else I can think of!  ???Getting a Work Out in the Winter!

It took me 35 years to get unhealthy!!  So what makes me think I can do it in months!!!

What was I thinking??  What am  I thinking!!  Ok I understand that sorta!   It’s the American way “I want to it now”!!!  But In reality it’s not going to happen that quick when  I have more than 25 pounds to lose ;  But Hey that’s ok I have learnt a lot in the process and a lot about me!  I didn’t gain it overnight and I’m not going to lose it overnight!

Yes it would be so easy, a relief not to worry or think about food all the time, what to eat, what should I eat, how much to eat, etc.etc…..     Healthy Living At Least Trying

Number one;  I , me, you, we can’t keep thinking about that damn scale all the time that in its self, will drive you to depression or a BIG food party!!  It’s not always the scale or the numbers where we can see the rewards;  It can be many other things such as smaller cloths, feeling more energy, off medications and more, you get the idea.   So no lets not throw in the towel and yes we will have our ups and downs and victories  some on the scale, some off  the scale.   Maybe we do have a medical issue that at times it flares up and causes some weight gain and the next week it’s better, We just have to remember that and take it into consideration.   That is one of my issues I had  a bowel resection and I’m in constant battle with foods and constipation. (sorry for the bad visual) .  But some us have some kind of health issue that will get in the losing weight way time and again and that’s ok just don’t beat yourself up over it!  Your body will catch up.

So I guess what I’m saying is, This Healthy Journey is a “MIND SET”  It’s not just reading a diet book or a new trend  and saying,  “Hey I’m going to do this! ”   You have to get it set in your mind, and make a plan!   OR IT JUST BECOMES A WISH !!!

So NO we are not going to quit!  not now not ever!!  Living Healthy is not just a diet it is a way of life and once you reach your healthy goal you have to maintain it right??

RIGHT!  Think about it if you have turned your life around and now living healthy enjoying life, happier than ever, don’t you want to keep it that way??  Well I sure do !!!

Not saying you will never get to eat the foods you want to, you can just do it moderately and be accountable for it!  Maybe more exercise that week you know  your going out or for a special occasion.  Remember to drink your daily water, watch your sugar, up your exercise that’s all planning ahead!  Let me put this out right here I’m NOT a Dr, a Diet Guru or Specialist I’m just me sharing my thoughts and what I have been through and believe me its been tough but man It’s been worth it to feel the freedom and happiness in so many ways and so MY fight MY journey continues one day at time with a positive mindset!  At least for today right??  Right!  And you can too just never give up, never throw in the towel!!            Getting over the Hurdles

Still Working It

Not giving up or giving in!  I got this!

As you can see I’m still working out and working on my health and It has been a long road now!  It has been almost a year since I started and I have seen a lot of changes and I’m proud to say all for the Best!  Looking back to a year ago I thought or Didn’t think much about making these Life Changes or what I could or should do; I just put it to the back of my mind ignoring it hoping it would go away!  Then I would pass a mirror and see myself and it hit like a ton of bricks man!!  Why, What, How, How was I going to change things, I know I must but crap it’s so hard and I don’t know where to start.

THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF A 150 POUND PERSON AND A 250 POUND PERSON

See  how the fat in the body of the 250 pound  person is smothering the organs, limbs, knees, heart, even the neck and spine !  No wonder I couldn’t bend!

This is a wake up call for sure!!  

Tears whelled up along with shame, guilt, discuss, you name it!   BUT I KNEW I had to do something!   I was on blood pressure medication, short of breath with exertion, couldn’t bend over and tie my shoes with out getting out of breath, couldn’t cross my legs for YEARS!!  Belly Flaps, (disgusting but true) and spent years shopping in the Big Girl departments always feeling ashamed to be there and did not like going out in public in the first dang place!   I know this all my seem hard to understand unless you have experienced yourself  but it is real!!!!    I needed help and support!!!  Thats when I joined a weight loss group and was given the guidance to eat right, move and be accountable for what and when food went into my mouth!!!  Was it easy?  Heck No!!  Did it work?  Yes If I worked it!!   It all boils down to I LOVE FOOD!!!!  But I had to find a way I could eat to live NOT Live to eat!!!    Don’t get me wrong here folks I’m not preaching here;  I’m hear to share my story and hope and pray it will help someone else!  I’m not perfect by no means!  I have slip ups all the time man!!  I may eat too much bread one day or maybe not watch my portion control. ( that’s a big one for me). again I love food!   Or maybe it’s a holiday, birthday, funeral, wedding, OR maybe its just a dang day you feel like eating!!

I know I have to workout almost everyday and watch what I eat plus I can eat anything I want as long as I do it wisely and not over indulge myself!  I can’t tell you how many Diets I have been on or off and all the tricks and trades you hear about these days, but I will tell you lay off the sugar and drink lots of water!!!  And exercise too!  You have to move or do something an by moving I don’t mean  move to the refrigerator and back to sit down!!  You, Me. Have get off our butts and move along with  some kind of work out!  I will tell you once you start you will begin to see in increase in energy and the desire to do more!   Just don’t over do it when you first start;  work up to it slowly and gain strength and momentum, Your body will thank you!

I Love going to the gym now and hate to miss a day!  I love the weight machines, and treadmill the most  LOL (thats all they have there basically) But it works for me!  I have weeks I lose a couple pounds and then I have a plateau and again maybe a gain!  Hey I’m human and it happens I face it and start a new day and Not give up!!  I can’t!   I have come too far and have had too many good rewards to quit now!   What rewards you might ask?  Well all kinds of them,  It’s not just the scale!  Think about it!. Rewards come in so many ways;

  • weight loss
  • smaller sizes
  • cross your legs
  • more stamina
  • able to work out or work out more
  • able to say NO THANK YOU
  • smaller ring sizes
  • less appitite
  • compliments
  • confidence
  • more social
  • big one!  Off medications
  • more energy
  • run
  • workout
  • gardening

So see theirs so many rewards other than the scale, and I’m sure you will think of more to add to the list.

Well I hope this has not depressed you but has give you some momentum to carry on in your Health Journey!!  I know it has me and It will continue the rest of my life!

Healthy Living At Least Trying

HEALTHY LIVING AND WORKING AT IT

♥ I WON’T LIE THIS HEALTHY LIVING HAS BEEN ONE OF MY HARDEST IF NOT THE HARDEST JOURNEY I HAVE BEEN ON AND PROBABLY THE REST OF MY LIFE!   ISN’T THAT THE POINT TO PROLONG OUR LIVES MAN SOMETIMES IS NO FUN!  BUT WE MUST, I MUST !!

A LITTLE HEALTH HISTORY

HAVING BEEN OVER WEIGHT MOST ALL MY ADULT LIFE!!  4 C-SECTIONS ( OLD FASHION WAY) THEN BIRTH CONTROL PILLS, RAISING A FAMILY OF 6 BEING A STAY AT HOME MOM, WELL YOU KNOW WE EAT ALOT OF CARBS!!!  ITS CHEAP RIGHT? RIGHT….  BUT NOT IN THE LONG RUN .   I HAVE BEEN PAYING FOR IT SINCE THE LAST CHILD AND STILL PAYING FOR IT!!  TO LOSE IT THAT IS!! LOL. THIS IS NOT HEALTHY LIVING!!

 LOSE, GAIN, LOSE KEEP IT OFF A YEAR MAYBE IF I WAS LUCKY!! AND THUS THE CYCLE BEGAN!!!  

AND STOPING AND STARTING  OF WW’S TOO MANY TIMES TO COUNT!!   TOPS, ATKINS, PALEO

THINGS CAN CHANGE!

WELL SOMETHING CHANGED IN ME MARCH 2018  NOT SURE BUT I DECIDED TO CHANGE MY LIFE STYLE AND START HEALTHY LIVING AND  DID A HIGH PROTEIN DIET FOR 3 MONTHS AND BEGAN LOSING, BUT ALSO WAS TIRING OF THE SAME OLD FOOD, THEN WITH SOME FAMILY PROMPTING I WENT BACK I SAY BACK!! TO WW AND JOINED WITH A DETERMINED ATTIDUDE TO FINALLY ONCE AND FOR ALL TO GET RID OF THIS FAT THAT WAS KILLING ME, MAKING ME HIDE IN MY HOUSE, NOT WANTING TO SOCIALIZE, SHOP, BE SEEN AND HATED MYSELF AND THE BAGGY CLOTHS THAT NOT TO MENTION WERE NONE TO STYLISH!!

I ALSO BEGAN GOING TO A GYM TO WORKOUT ON TREADMILL  AN WEIGHT MACHINES 4-6 DAYS A WEEK AND BEGAN LOVING IT!!  I FELT STRONGER, MORE ENERGY, LESS HUNGRY,AND. AND,  WAS LOSING WEIGHT!! ME!!! LOSING WEIGHT!  DID YOU HEAR ME MAN!!   WELL I LOOKED INTO A WELLNESS COMPANY AND BEGAN USING THEIR NATURAL MINERALS AND VITAMINS AND DRINK TO CURB APPETITE  AND MAINTAIN A HEALTHY BLOOD SUGAR, EVEN THOUGH I DIDN’T HAVE DIABETE

NEW NUMBER AND SIZES!

THIS IS NOVEMBER 2018 AND TO THIS DAY I HAVE LOST 51 POUNDS! AND 4-5 SIZES!!

 FEELING  LIKE A DIFFERENT WOMAN WITH CONFIDENCE, STRENGTH, NOT SCARED OR TO EMBARRASSED BE IN PUBLIC AND… NEW CLOTHS THAT ARE IN STYLE MODESTLY!

AND THE  MOST RECENT NOV 2018. AND I STILL HAVE 35 LBS TO GO!!!   ITS BEEN THE TOUGHEST!!  BUT I GOT THIS!!!   WE GOT THIS!!!♥

YOU MAY WONDER WHY I’M ADDING THIS TO MY BLOG, BUT I’M SO EXCITED AND WANT TO SHARE AND GIVE COURAGE AND HOPE TO ALL THAT HAVE BEEN WHERE I WAS AND HOPING AS WE GO FORWARD TOGETHER WE CAN SHARE AND GROW  ON THIS ROAD THAT NEVER SEEMED POSSIBLE!!!

Healthy TidBits

Have you ever been shopping for Healthy Food to find Its so expensive to eat healthy!!??  DID ANYONE TELL US HEALTHY LIVING IS EXPENSIVE!   Happens all the time and it shouldn’t be that way so I decided to try and make alot of my snacks and meals using healthy ingredients and tweaking some abit!  Remember we need all the food basics and the Good Carbs with fiber, easy on the oils and I use Olive Oil and real Butter sparingly cuz I love it so!!

Going  to a big grocery store that carries a lot of variety and seems to have more healthy choices is a great idea!

  Myself I tend to stay away from breads unless their high in fiber and low in gluten.  I also Love Love the Flat-out oblong tortilla like wraps that I can use for a sandwich, a wrap, tacos, breakfast wrap and they don’t have alot of points or bad in ingredients in them and come in a variety of flavors!!!  Also those Petridrige Farm multigrain bun type sandwich thins are good to for sandwich making, toast etc. They are  in the bread section at stores!

 Oh and don’t forget the Flat Out Artisan Pizza Crust!  Their a life saver when hubby wants Pizza!!  And only 5 points for whole thing!  Can’t beat that.


Well the Holidays are over and I survived!  BUT.. I’m sure I gained a couple pounds;   Tried to be  good with the main meal, but the cookies!  well that’s another story!  must of had at least 6-7 within a week period!  SO I’m owning up and facing the scale this week!

Hey we can’t quit now just buck up and start a new day!!!  

We got this! 

Back to the gym tomorrow!   I missed Friday and Monday!!  Thank goodness I have my Gizzel  sp

Thats one thing I cannot quit is my workouts; AND NEITHER CAN YOU! If WE’RE  NOT  doing them I fear WE won’t keep the inches off that WE WANT TO  LOSE AND and KEEP LOSING

Myself down  5 Sizes man!!!   Never felt so good and had fun wearing different cloths!   But mainly I feel good about me and like me!! haven’t  felt that in many many years!

Hello All!!

Well I faced the scale today at my workshop today and I gained a half pound during the Holidays and I will own it!!

How did you all do over the Holidays??

Not going to beat myself up over it and start a new day! I pumped up my workout routine🏋️‍♀️ added more water to my diet and prayed for more strength 🙏😉.

These days will happen and just don’t give up! Hey we’re only Human right?? Right!!

Going to try some more healthy recipes so stay tuned and stay strong!!

Getting a Work Out in the Winter!

Snow and more snow, ice, sleet!  Hard for a girl to get her workouts!

Well I made it to the gym today finally!  I’m over all this winter stuff!  How about you guys?   So what’s a girl to do when you can’t make it to the gym?

Hopefully you have a device to use at home (lucky I do) but no weights, friends or the cool sweaty workout environment!   I know you must be thinking she’s NUTS!  But hey whatever it takes to get this weight off right?    Ok so you don’t have the machine or weights at home now what?  Well guess we better improvise huh!  And how we going to do that you say!   Well lets start with getting in the mood first!

Work out clothes, check.  Us girls love buying and wearing them, not to mention shopping for them ( thats another story) lol.

Music or I Pods to listen to while working out, check

Locked door to keep unwanted visitors out, such as husband, dogs, cats, or Whatever!  check.

Oh and how about Please don’t eat before you work out!  Man thats hard to vamp up the energy after eating, But do drink your water!  check

Ok We are in the mood now right??!!  OK so next step.

No machine No weight NO PROBLEM!    Floor exercises now don’t moan or cry we got this!!  And how about some good Ol Richard Simmons or Zumba or MY favorite  Body Groove which is free style dancing and moves to music and hey they even have one for Seniors!!  Dig that Man!!

How about free style weight!  You know those ones like you get at discount stores in different colors and sizes,  And if you don’t have them lets just fill up some milk jugs or grab some cans of food, your dog, cat, husband,  oops forgo the last one!! lol

So do what you have to do and not give up or give in!  Theirs always a way just think outside the box a bit and YOU GOT THIS!!!

Winter Bliss

Well how’s everyone doing??

We just had about our 3 winter storms here in the Midwest and blowing high winds tomorrow will make All drift! Then Friday-Monday more storms and snow!!

On top of all this yesterday was headed out to the gym and slipped and fell on icy sidewalk at home!!! Shizelles!!!!Twisted my leg back under me twisted my ankle and foot laying there like a dead zombie for a couple minutes while my Husband my husband mind you sets in the truck waiting on me blindly to me flying in the air twisted and crashing on my arss on the cold cement!! Finally he sees me and comes running to help!! “What happened dear? You alright?”

Duh!!! Do I look alright my purse in on direction my thermal cup another and my twisted limbs all over!!! You think dear!!!🤨

Well I made it to the truck with his help finally and then he got it!!! Needless to say He’ll never go to the truck again with out me with him!!

So we headed to the gym!!!

See I can’t quit ,

if at all

Possible.

I come to far y’all 51 lbs and 5-6 sizes down in 35 years!!!

Heck to the no, so I went ,

got through it and on the way home stoped and bought a brace to wear for ankle/foot support. It’s sore swollen and such but I can walk and thank the Lord so!!

So my point is

1- Make sure someone walks you to your vehicle when nasty out

2- Never give up if possible think positive, pray and keep fighting for your goals baby!!

3. I’m here for you!!
