WHEAT BREAD

 

 

Home made Wheat Bread

 

2-1/2 TSP OF ACTIVE DRY YEAST

2 C LUKE WARM 1/2 WATER 1/2 Milk

2 TABL SUGAR

2 TSP SALT

3 C WHITE FLOUR

 

1/2 C HOT WATER

1/3 C BROWN SUGAR

2 TABL OF SHORTENING

2 TABL OIL

1 beaten egg

3 C WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR

 

IN A LARGE NON METAL BOWL MIX YEAST AND WARM WATER AND ALLOW TO SIT FOR 10 MIN. ADD SUGAR, SALT, AND WHITE FLOUR. BEAT WITH WOODEN SPOON OR MIXER UNTIL SMOOTH. SET IN WARM PLACE UNTIL LIGHT AND BUBBLY.

MEANWHILE COMBINE HOT WATER WITH THE BROWN SUGAR, OIL; COOL TO LUKE WARM. ADD 1 BEATEN EGG AND ADD TO THE YEAST MIXTURE.

ADD WHEAT FLOUR AND MIX.

TURN OUT ON FLOURED SURFACE AND KNEAD, OR WITH BREAD DOUGH MIXER 4-7 MIN. DOUGH SHOULD BE ELASTIC.

COVER AND LET RISE TILL DOUBLE , ABOUT AN HOUR.

DIVIDE DOUGH INTO TWO GREASED LOAF PANS AND COVER AND LET RISE TILL DOUGH REACHES TOP OF PAN

 

BAKE @375 35-40 MIN OR UNTIL DONE.

HOME-MADE ESSENTIAL LOTION BARS

LAVENDER, YLANG-YLANG, &  FRANKINCENSE  LOTION BARS

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 C BEESWAX BEADS OR GRATED BEESWAX
  • 1/2 C SHEA BUTTER
  • 1/2 C COCONUT OIL
  • 24 DROPS OF LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL
  • 15 DROPS OF YLANG-YLANG ESSENTIAL OIL
  • 15 DROPS OF FRANKINCENSE ESSENTIAL OIL

IN A DOUBLE BROILER, HEAT THE BEESWAX AND SHEA BUTTER UNTIL THEY MELT, STIR UNTIL COMPLETELY LIQUID.

ADD THE COCONUT OIL AND MIX WELL

REMOVE FROM HEAT ADD THE ESSENTIAL OILS AND STIR

POUR INTO MUFFIN TINS OR SILICONE MOLDS AND LET SET UP.

Pure Essential Shampoo

Natural Shampoo with Essential Oils

 

  • 1/2 c of Dr. Bonner’s Pure Castile Almond Liquid soap

  • 1-1/2 c of Distilled Water

  • 3 T Coconut Oil

1-5 drops of Lavender Essential Oil

1-4 drops of Rosemary Essential Oil

Pour into container and shake.  Shake well before each use.

Rosemary  Is good for Hair Loss, Greasy/Oily Hair.  (The Rosemary plant was regarded as sacred by many civilizations and used to drive away evil spirits and protect against plague and infectious illness.)

Lavender  Is good for Dry Hair, Fragile hair, Hair Loss also a antimicrobial and antiseptic along with so many other benefits!

The French Medicinal Uses were for Dandruff, hair loss, insomnia and much much more!

Lavender Is a universal oil that has been known to balance t he body and work wherever there is a need!  If in doubt use Lavender!

Aromatic- Influence:  It promotes consciousness, health, love, peace, and a general sense of well-being.

A woman Sitting Alone On A Park Bench, Hears Something

Hears something that could change the world!

A woman sitting alone on a park bench, hears something very fainting not too far from where she was sitting and as she leans forward the faint sound seemed to be coming in front of her near a cluster of three beautiful sunflowers glowing in the morning sun.

The color and added sunbeams brought a glow to the flowers like she had never seen; She knelt down near them with an urge to pick the beautiful flowers when all of a sudden she heard a faint little voice from the first sunflower she was about to pick and it spoke to her and said “Oh, no don’t pick me” I’m here to spread compassion for all that look upon me!  The woman smiled and pulled her hand back and said” I understand that and I will let you grow to spread compassion.

The woman then went to pick the next sunflower and again she heard a small faint voice and the little sunflower said “Oh please don’t pick me; For I’m here to spread Faith to all that see me!”  The woman spoke back and told the glowing sunflower; “Oh I won’t pick you for we all need more faith”. Then the woman leaned over towards the last beautiful glowing sunflower and reached to pick it when she heard yet another small voice say ” “Oh please pick me for I’m the Mother of their seeds and you may pick me and dry my seeds to spread about the earth!  For I’m the seed of Love,Compassion and Faith and will grow strong in the hearts of many a gardens and hearts”

The woman gently picked the last sunflower of the group with tenderness, love and ever so much compassion to take and spread its seed across the land!

To this day the aged woman still remembers her visit to the park and the Sunflowers that spoke gently to her heart and without telling a soul did what the Sunflower ask of her.

To this day a tiny dried sunflower petal placed gently in a crystal bowl will always speak to her heart and soul and remind her of the day “She helped spread Love, Compassion          and Faith across the earth.                                                                                                  fullsizeoutput_39ff

Mississippi Mud Cake

A great chocolate cake ( not so healthy, But a family favorite)

 

  1. 2 sticks butter
  2. 2 c. Sugar
  3. 2 T cocoa
  4. 4 eggs. Well beaten
  5. 1-1/2 c. Flour
  6. 1 Tsp vanilla
  7. 1-1/2 c. Coconut
  8. 1-1/2 c nuts
  1. 1- 7 oz jar Marshmallow cream

cream together the butter, sugar and cocoa. Add well beaten eggs. Mix all with electric mixer. Add flour, vanilla, coconut, and nuts.

Put batter into greased cooking sheet with 4 inch sides or a jelly roll pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 min . Remove from oven and spread the jar of marshmallow cream on hot cake. Frost when cool!

Frosting*

  • 3/4 stick of butter
  • 1 box of powdered sugar
  • 1/3 c cocoa
  • 1/2 c milk
  • Combine beat and spread on cake!

Not ALL bread is treated equal

Did you know?  All whole-wheat bread is brown, but not all brown bead is whole wheat.

By Law, bread that is labeled “whole-wheat” must be made from 100 percent whole-wheat flour.

Bread labeled “wheat” bread need not be made from whole-wheat flour and is likely made from mostly white flour.

Theirs something for you to chew on!!

Whole-grain breads are important for dietary fiber.  They also contain folate, magnesium and phosphorus in addition to the nutrients found in enriched white bread.

So what are whole Grains?   Well whole grains are products that contain the Entire kernel, or all the kernel that is edible.  Some examples are whole wheat, cracked wheat, oatmeal, whole cornmeal, popcorn, brown rice, whole rye, and scotch barley.

whole grain “doesn’t have to mean bread or cereal. It can be rice cakes, corn tortillas or taco shells,(yum), whole-wheat pasta, scotch barley in soups, or tabbouleh salad.

We should eat six-nine servings of grain a day!    Unless your a Keto- Eatter!

German Dark Rye Bread

A Great Healthy Bread

  • 3 cups regular flour
  • 4 1/2 tsp (2 pk) active dry year
  • 1/4 cup of  baking  cocoa powder
  • 1 T Caraway seeds
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/3 cup of Molasses
  • 2 T Butter
  • 1 T Sugar
  • 1 T Salt

3- 3 1/2 cups of Rye Flour

In large mixing bowl combine regular flour, yeast, cocoa powder and caraway seeds until blended well.

In a saucepan combine the water, molasses, butter, sugar and salt; heat until just warm and stir to melt butter.   Add to dry mixture.  Beat at low speed for 30 sec and then turn to higher speed and beat for 3 minutes more.

By hand, stir in enough rye flour to make a soft dough.  Turn out onto floured surface and knead until smooth, adding more rye flour as needed, about 5 minutes.   Cover and let stand 20 min.

Punch down dough and divide dough in half.  Shape each half into a round loaf ; placed on greased baking sheets or 2 greased bread pans.  Brush surface of bread with a little cooking oil.  Slash tops of loaves with a sharp knife.  Let rise until double, about 45-60 min.

Bake at 400 degrees or until bread looks done.

 

This bread is amazing!  soft, and Great Taste with good fiber!

Winter Bliss

Well how’s everyone doing??

We just had about our 3 winter storms here in the Midwest and blowing high winds tomorrow will make All drift! Then Friday-Monday more storms and snow!!

On top of all this yesterday was headed out to the gym and slipped and fell on icy sidewalk at home!!! Shizelles!!!!Twisted my leg back under me twisted my ankle and foot laying there like a dead zombie for a couple minutes while my Husband my husband mind you sets in the truck waiting on me blindly to me flying in the air twisted and crashing on my arss on the cold cement!! Finally he sees me and comes running to help!! “What happened dear? You alright?”

Duh!!! Do I look alright my purse in on direction my thermal cup another and my twisted limbs all over!!! You think dear!!!🤨

Well I made it to the truck with his help finally and then he got it!!! Needless to say He’ll never go to the truck again with out me with him!!

So we headed to the gym!!!

See I can’t quit ,

if at all

Possible.

I come to far y’all 51 lbs and 5-6 sizes down in 35 years!!!

Heck to the no, so I went ,

got through it and on the way home stoped and bought a brace to wear for ankle/foot support. It’s sore swollen and such but I can walk and thank the Lord so!!

So my point is

1- Make sure someone walks you to your vehicle when nasty out

2- Never give up if possible think positive, pray and keep fighting for your goals baby!!

3. I’m here for you!!

Liquid Laundry Soap

  • 1 Quart Water ( boiling)
  • 2 Cups Bar Soap ( grated about 1 bar)
  • 2 Cups Borax

2 Cups Washing Soda(. not baking soda!  Find it at Wal-Mart in the cleaning section)

Soap mixed with Borax and Laundry Baking Soda

 

Add finely grated bar soap to the boiling water and stir until the soap is melted.

Pour the soap water into a large clean pail and add the Borax and Washing Soda and stir until soap is melted.

Add 2 Gallons of water, stir until well mixed.

Cover pail and allow to set 24 hours.  The detergent will gel and require stirring before each use.

Use 1/2 cup per large load

Thats Less than 4 cents per load!!

I like to add some Essential Oil to the detergent after I’ve added the 2 gallons to it;  My favorite is Lavender and a little Tea Tree Oil.

All natural and no chemicals in this!!

Moisturizing Lotion

    . 1 cup of Shea Butter
    . 1 cup Coconut Oil
    . 1/3 cup of Arrow Root Powder/Or 2-3 Tsp of Beeswax Beads
  • Soften the Shea Butter and Coconut oil in microwave or double broiler; I melt the Beeswax separate then add to the Shea Butter and coconut oil. Keep staring till mixture melts and don’t overcook!

  • Add the Arrow Root Powder and stir well.(If you like a thicker lotion)
  • Add 75-100 drops of Essential Oil all one scent or your choice.
  • I used: .50 drops Lavender
  • . 10 Frankincense
  • . 10 Lemon
  • Transfer to mixing bowl and whip with mixer till soft form peaks.

  • Then transfer to glass jars.

 

 

This made 4 small 4oz jars

Lavender is healing to the skin and a natural disinfectant

Frankincense is healing to skin and wrinkles and helps reduce inflammation

Lemon helps reduce cellulitis deposits and cooling to the body

So good and not greasy!  See that was easy peasy!!   ENJOY!
