The Christ Burro

Had a wonderful day today with my friends! Lunch with a good friend and fellow blogger then to other friend to meet her new animals!

Needles to say I fell in love with Wednesday the Burro and the miniature horse!!

Jerusalem Donkey

The fact that the little donkey has been bearing humanity’s burdens for thousands of years is well documented.  This Christmas season I am reminded of this humble animal’s impact on the holidays and religion.  The bible says that Mary rode a donkey into Bethlehem before giving birth to the baby Jesus.    We see this today in most Nativity scenes where a donkey is standing or bedded close by the manger keeping watch over the new family.    Then, on Palm Sunday Jesus rode into Jerusalem for the last time on a donkey.  The religious significance of the donkey is expressed in Christianity, Judaism and Islam.  The King, riding the lowly donkey, is seen as a symbol of peace and salvation.

You may have heard of the legend of the “Jerusalem Donkey”.  It goes something like this – after he brought Jesus into Jerusalem the donkey was troubled because he knew what Jesus was about to go through with his trial, suffering and death on the cross. The donkey seeing the sad treatment of Jesus wished he had been able to carry the cross; after all, it was his job to carry man’s burdens. The donkey could not bear to watch and turned away but in his concern stayed nearby as Jesus endured his torture.  God saw this and caused the shadow of the cross to fall across the little donkey’s back and he has carried the sign of the cross ever since as a symbol of God’s love.

On Christmas Day give your little burros a few carrots and an extra scratch or two and remember the burdens their ancestors have carried for thousands of years on behalf of mankind.

Beautiful Sunday Morning

Frost glowing on the ground and winter beauty is all around. The birds chirping against the blue sky’s and sleepy trees always make me thankful for all the beautiful that I see.

Christmas is around the corner as we all hustle from store to store just looking and looking always wanting to get more! Presents , food making gifts and more But who or what it’s about is NOT the store!

Give thanks for your blessings, family and friends but mostly remember remember the Christ Child laying in a manger who came to this earth to Bless us all with the gift of Salvation, Love, Eternity and many gifts and blessings.

We must open our hearts and share the blessings we have received, Share the love that we give so freely to others around us, With Faith , Love and Compassion we can all make this season and everyday a gift and blessing to all.

CHRISTMAS

Well It’s been busy here lately with appointments and getting ready for Christmas!

I bet y’all have been busy too!  Tis the season.   I spent 5.5 hours on evening wrapping gifts and that’s a lot!!  We have 4 Boys and their families so I was thinking how could I get their gifts all together to transport them to our Christmas location this year!   well this is what I came up with and it turned out pretty good, If I do say

I bought 4 square laundry basket and weaved a big bow around it and tied it!. Wahlaa!  Needless to say their running over but it has to be something us seniors can carry :). As you can tell I Love Love the Buffalo print that’s so popular this year!  Heck I even made new LR and Kitchen Curtains!!

Now last year I made the family Santa Bags that I heat pressed with a design and their name;  It was a big hit and a big heavy bag!!  I try to change it up each year.  So give it a try, and have some fun!  It adds to the season and joy of giving ❤
